I was in my vehicle for all of these photos, pulled off to the side of the road right in front of the animals. A vehicle works as a great blind, animals hardly notice you, and neither your or their safety is at risk. The main highway through Jasper National Park offers a great opportunity to see all types of wildlife, depending on how patient you are and the time of day. I always look forward to what types of animals I’ll see, although the mountain goats and elk are very common throughout the park.
Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.

Beautiful photos! I especially like the first and second ones.
Thank you so much!
What are these animals called? Great shots!
The first two shots are of what are commonly referred to as Elk but also known as Wapiti or Red Deer
